Cleaning Up the Kitchen with Stanley Steemer

It’s a new year, so let’s leave 2018 and its cleaning mistakes in the past. For the past few months, we have written about proper cleaning techniques and dialed in to jumpstarting healthy cleaning habits. Now we want to issue a home cleaning challenge to South Florida. Room by room, we’re going to get clean as a team. We’ll cover the basics, provide you with tips, and create an overall guideline to maximize your cleaning efficiency. Today we’re going over the kitchen, which is the heart of most of our homes.

So, where do we start? We need to create a game plan or task list!

  • Wipe down and disinfect all countertops
  • Clean up the cabinets
  • Organize the snack pantry
  • Clean out & reorganize the fridge
  • Clean & organize under the kitchen sink
  • Clean the oven
  • Clean the microwave
  • Dust the light fixtures
  • Sweep and mop the floors

The best way to start the process is by clearing out the area you wish to clean first, so you can clean efficiently. With a cleared-out area, cleaning will be streamlined and simplified and also gives you the ability to sort all your individual items in the process.

Make it a goal to touch of the various points of your kitchen day by day, and, in no time, you’ll begin to notice the clean difference. If the task at hand seems like too much, don’t get overwhelmed. Create yourself a schedule or calendar for different individual cleaning tasks so you can stay on par with your kitchen cleaning goals. Also, don’t feel discouraged if you fall behind or miss a day, any progress that you can achieve is a positive step in the right direction.

Don’t stop there. Follow our blog over the coming weeks and months to get your entire house in peak shape. It’s a new year, let’s get healthy South Florida!
